Denise Cudiamat, Associate Veterinarian

Denise

I attended Illinois Wesleyan University and received my undergraduate degree in Biology. It was during my time in Bloomington, IL at IWU that I realized that veterinary medicine was going to be a part of my future. As I walked across the quad one day, on my way to an art class, that realization hit me like a bolt of lightening and I quickly began the process toward veterinary school.

Six years and a lot of hard work later, I graduated from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign with a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine.

Just before starting veterinary school I married my grade school sweetheart, Mark. He supported me through the rigors and trials of veterinary school and together we prove that opposites do attract.

Gabriel

Before leaving veterinary school, we welcomed an adorable Catahoula Hound Dog named Gabriel into our home. I met Gabriel when I was randomly assigned to neuter him through a program with a local animal shelter. He quickly won over our hearts and is now an endearing member of our family with his laid-back attitude and unique personality.

When not hanging out with Gabriel, Mark and I spend our spare time with our friends at the South Suburban Vineyard Church. We became members of the Vineyard church while we lived in Urbana and felt the desire to help plant a new church when it was time to move. The opportunity arose to join a few friends with this church planting endeavor in Homewood, IL. We enjoy the chance to meet new people through service projects in our neighborhoods.

So, most days you can find me at the Big Red Barn caring for your furry, feathered and even scaly family members, but on Sunday I can be found caring for members of my community at the South Suburban Vineyard Church.
